American Crafts, LC located in Lindon, UT seeks an Industrial Designer

Duties:
Coordinate Product Development Process (PDP) planning for design of new product and initiatives by implementing industrial design skills ensuring consistency of process, quality of information and timely execution in adherence with the organization’s Product Commercialization Process (PCP). Employ analytical techniques and utilize 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for advanced surface modeling and formulating FEA, FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-up analysis for injection molding process, and prototyping to demonstrate product feasibility and to reduce risk. Implement agile engineering using CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) Strategies to enhance production methods utilizing Lean Sigma improvement strategies and CAD/photorealistic imagery software (KeyShot) for renderings. Develop CMF palettes and CMD (Color and Material Design) release documents utilizing Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for technical product specifications. Review Prototypes, EVT and DVT build to acquire qualitative analysis for improving product functionality by conducting product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to assess utilization of materials, monitor and identify underperforming SKU’s to eliminate or revitalize using heuristic analysis to outline improvements. Incorporate HF&E (Human Factors and Ergonomics) UX/UI/usability principles in the development of model iterations. Research competitive markets using quantitative and qualitative data.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related degree. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. 2 years’ experience as an Industrial Designer. 2 years’ Industrial Designer experience to include experience using the following 2D and 3D CAD software: SolidWorks, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and KeyShot, to create photorealistic imagery and advanced surface modeling. Demonstrable ability to assist with projects from concept to production and integrate Industrial Design initiatives within a cross-functional product development process. Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing processes specifically the injection molding process to develop products. Demonstrable knowledge of emerging trends in crafting industry, design technologies, and demographics, market and consumer research. Must have a portfolio of completed industrial design projects.
